Denmark: casino and gaming halls shut until 5 April

The government in Denmark has announced the extension of the nationwide closure on gambling venues until 5 April

In light of prolonged COVID-19 restrictions in Denmark, the government has announced a casinos and gaming ventures across the country will stay closed until April 5.

Originally, gaming venues were eager to open their doors at the start of 2021 after being shut since December 2020. However, a surge in the number of COVID-19 positive patients ignited several delays. 

Nonetheless, the country is moving forward, hinting towards restoring normality. It was added that some non-essential shops, other venues and outdoor attractions will remain open in specified areas. In addition, schools will begin to see their classrooms filled again for certain year groups. 

The Danish health and Medicines Authority proclaimed that the recent easing of certain measures, casinos and other gaming venues will stay closed until 5 April at the latest. 

In recent news, the Dutch Gaming Authority finalised its guidelines ahead of online gaming launch and mobile sportsbooks and online casino lead regulated gambling revenue growth for 2020.
