Exante launches business network ‘Genesis’ for dynamic professionals

As Malta continues to win business from more established fund jurisdictions – thus benefiting from a growing demand by investors for transparency, as well as from fears among hedge funds that the EU was becoming increasingly hostile to firms based outside of it – global brands like FinanceMalta member Exante are expanding their reach to the local business audience.

According to the Malta Financial Services Authority, over the past few years, companies from the British Virgin Islands, the Cayman Islands and Luxembourg are switching their legal domicile to Malta. In addition, at least a dozen large UK hedge funds have shifted part of their operations, including accounting and investor relations, to Malta

Exante’s new business network ‘Genesis’ will bring together professionals from different sectors within the financial industry such as banking, financial institutions and services, as well as entrepreneurs who are new to Malta’s financial sector.

“We were inundated with requests to set up a business network catering for professionals especially since our high profile breakfast events last year. We are delighted now to have this opportunity and to have government backing in the form of Hon Jose Herrera MP who will be our first honorary member,” stated Patrick J O’Brien, Exante ’s communication director. “Our club will meet monthly and bring purpose and meaning to the word ‘business networking’.”

EXANTE Limited was founded in March 2011 producing and supporting cutting-edge infrastructure for greater financial market accessibility and pricing transparency in the prime brokerage space.

Exante business network will be managed by Patrick J O’Brien, George Grech and Mark DeBono. For more information on the first business evening or to apply for membership contact Patrick J O’ Brien
