iGaming partly responsible for real estate boom
The iGaming industry has constantly been on the rise in Malta since its inclusion in the European Union in 2004. This mainly goes down to the beneficial tax benefits, strong labour force and the country’s close proximity to the European, African and Asian markets. High interest in the iGaming industry was confirmed at the Summit for iGaming in Malta (SiGMa) which took place earlier this month at the Intercontinental Hotel, St. Julian’s, bringing together the igaming community under one roof – both companies based in Malta and others from overseas. More than 2000 delegates attended this summit which shows the high level of interest people have in this emerging industry.
Engel & Völkers Sara Grech was the Exclusive appointed Real Estate Broker at SiGMa event, which illustrates the direction the company is taking, that is the targeting of niche markets within the local industry. Engel & Völkers Sara Grech recently introduced its new commercial division which excels at providing commercial property solutions using local knowledge and expertise gathered from the commercial markets over the past 25 years with the global expertise at hand directly from Hamburg.
Sara Grech was founded by Ms Grech in 1989. Today the company is managed by her son Benjamin Grech and her daughter Semira Grech as HR Director. Both Benjamin and Semira carry their mother’s legacy, and feel fortunate enough to have had an role model. Benjamin Grech goes on to say that when you are privileged enough to be in that position where a role model is probably the most important thing in business, culture and legacy guides most of your decisions. We know we have to lead by example and that has to be authentic. We are now taking Sara Grech to its next level of generation and new outlook to the family business. We have the opportunity to connect with family members in a business way each day and that makes business great.
In recent years, Malta experienced an increased number of commercial projects such as Tigne’ Point, Skyparks, and most recently Smart City. The latter which can be found in the limits of Kalkara is attracting high interest due to different reasons, namely: the office spaces and office infrastructure, improved accessibility through a 20 minute ferry from Sliema, and general area potential with multiple residential units and 3 hotels are already in the pipeline which will certainly increase the popularity of the surrounding areas. If you would like to learn more about Smart City Malta and other commercial property services we have on offer, please visit our website on www.evsaragrech.com or call us on +356 23470000.
