IGT and the National Basketball Association have come to a multi-year sports betting partnership that will cover the league’s intellectual property, including official data, team logos, and league insignias
With this agreement, International Gaming Technology’s sports betting customers in the U.S. will have the opportunity to utilise the NBA’s intellectual property in their sportsbooks.
IGT’s PlaySports platform, which consists of self-service kiosks and services related to trading, is used by sportsbook operators in 14 of the 18 states where sports betting is currently legally permitted.
Enrico Drago, the IGT PlayDigital Senior Vice President has states that
“With the rise in popularity of in-play, prop and parlay bets, having access to official, real-time NBA data feeds, league marks, and logos positions IGT to collaborate with our PlaySports customers in creating highly compelling betting menus for sports fans across the country,”
This agreement will permit IGT to offer an “out of the box” and authentic sports betting solution in relation to the NBA
Additionally, NBA Senior Vice President Scott Kaufman-Ross stated:
“This agreement will allow regional operators across the country to have direct access to NBA assets to create the best NBA gaming experience and further engage our fans,”
IGT has partnered up with several casinos and sportsbook operators. It is rumored that Tennessee is expected to launch mobile sports betting by the 1st of November whilst three further states could legalize such activity next year. However, local elections in states of Maryland, Louisiana, and South Dakota will consider sport betting referendums on the 3rd of November.
During the last 30 days the North Dakota’s Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians and IGT agreed to a deal to produce and provide technology related to sports betting which is to be used in its two casinos – Grand Treasure Casino in Trenton and Sky Dancer Casino and Resort in Belcourt.
