With investigations by the police and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission underway, there will be no compromise if police personnel found guilty
According to local reports in Malaysia, more than 10 police officers have received bribes from illegal gambling websites and are now facing legal disciplinary charges.
The case took place when the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission was investigating a criminal group accused of laundering money through a local celebrity.
It revealed that the group operated illegal online gambling and Macau scam activities, and found that the group leader had close contacts with various police officers.
Prior to this, the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission had also summoned at least 6 persons with the titles of Dato and Dato Sri, 5 district officers and several local politicians to assist in the investigation.
The source pointed out that the police officers under investigation were respectively affiliated with Kuala Lumpur and Selangor, including the senior police officer.
Currently, the Malaysian National Police Integrity Department is still investigating, and the results of the investigation will be submitted to the National Police Chief Tan Sri Abdul Hamid; if the allegations are confirmed, the person involved will face the fate of dismissal.
In response, the Director of the Integrity and Standards Enforcement Department of the Malaysian Police pointed out to reporters that he has contacted the Anti-Corruption Commission for this matter, and the police force is also conducting an investigation based on all evidence and statements.
