Hello, Adrian, Charlene how are you? Are you ready for SiGMA17?

Charlene: Always prepared and excited to be involved in any SiGMA related event. We’re very proud that we have been exhibiting at SiGMA from the first year. There we realized the massive potential it brought to Fairwinds Management, not only in terms of new business but also in strengthening relationships with our clients who year after year attend this grand event. All our team is already gearing up for the next show!

How did you come to enter the financial consulting space and set up your company?

Adrian: As an accountant and businessman, setting up my own business was a dream. Following several years working in a small local firm, in 2009 I set up myself as a self-employed and from there moved on creating Fairwinds Management Limited, my first company providing corporate services and accounting. Charlene worked for several years in a large organization so her corporate background was essential to help me build the set up in terms of branding, marketing, human resources and office management. As a brother and sister, we complement each and working for ourselves, building our businesses and reputation made us gain experience and people skills.

Can you tell us a little about how your company business is structured?

Charlene: Recently we have launched our new group structure, Business Concept International plc. Few years ago when my brother was thinking to set up this holding company, I came across a draft book which our father had written over 25 years ago before he passed away. We instantly agreed to name the holding company after the title of our father’s book, Business Concept International. The mother company holds shares for all the group consisting of 8 companies. Adrian is the body and mind behind this, whilst I take care of marketing and public relations. Nowadays the group employs over 25 employees, made up mostly of accountants, tax specialist, lawyers, auditors and administration specialists.

What is Fairwinds Management position in the market and is it benefiting from the rotation law?

Adrian: In Malta, together with the iGaming industry, corporate services is one of the most promising industries and keeping on top of this is not easy. We consider ourselves as being avant-garde and ready to spot new trends straightaway. Our drive, not being afraid of changes, adaptation to new rules and regulations in the financial industry, and our very own clients who trust us keep us motivated whilst we keeping our feet to the ground.

What does a normal workweek look like for you?

Charlene: We both do long hours and have a 7 day workweek; in other words, it’s like we never shutdown. Building a success story is not easy at all, this a professional reality. There are always troubles not letting you sleep at night, setbacks and challenges, but our strength and leadership skills help us overcome everything. We find opportunity in whatever we come across, be it good or bad, and business and marketing ideas keep flowing.

Fairwinds Management have been a large, long established and the most trustable incorporation specialist business for a long time, what are the little secrets that help Fairwinds Management in innovating yet again?

Charlene: Our team is our strength. Image, brand, networking are important factors, but ultimately, without a reliable and dedicated team the company would not function properly. We truly believe in offering a personal, confidential and punctual service and together with our team, we move forward with an aggressive approach to master our company values together. We have clear visions and together with our team we consider ourselves as sharp players in the field.

How do you see the future of the accountancy sector and will the digitalization have an impact on this future?

Adrian: Accountancy requirements will remain in place and digitalization can only assist in making life easier and creating new business opportunities. We realize that often businessmen do not have time to go through papers or sort admin work. Today, apart from offering virtual office services to the client without the burden of a full-time in-house employee, we also offer comfortable software solutions to help the business owner organize invoicing, bank reconciliations and bookkeeping through an accounting platform. Nowadays everything is online and unless we adapt to this there is no future for anyone who wants to be a leader.

Are there any other exciting plans in the works that you can tell us about?

Charlene: Speaking of digitalization, yes, as leading incorporation agents we thrive to stay ahead of the curve. We are soon launching a new exciting project, another website run by Fairwinds Management consisting of an online incorporation shop together with great new additional features. We already run www.incorporateinmalta.com which was a first in Malta to hold an online shop for company formations and bank account introductions, and our new site will be enhanced even further offering a more complete service. Stayed tuned, we are in the final stages and will be launching soon.

What is the main thing that you’d like SiGMA readers to know about your business?

Adrian: Apart from a fantastic team which you meet at our exhibition stand at SiGMA, our strength also lies in the fact that we are able to offer a holistic service to customers through our group, from company formation to administration and company management, bookkeeping, payroll services, tax compliance, auditing and also real estate services. This is always a bonus for our clients as we offer a transparent one stop shop to them covering all their corporate services and accounting requirements under one roof.

What two pieces of advice would you give to any new client that want’s to create a company in Malta?

Adrian: We are living in times of globalization and the aspiring entrepreneur who recognizes this wants to set up ideal company structures to benefit from the economic and tax advantages offered by a few jurisdictions. This is undeniably comprehensible so do not be afraid to make this move. We guarantee confidentiality and privacy protection and only give the very best personal advice for tax efficient corporate structures putting the client in front of our business.

Do you play slots and what would you do with 1 million Euro from jackpot winnings?

Charlene: None of us do… but if we’d get that amount from jackpot winning, I would invest in a property, a shopping spree and enjoy some luxury travel. Adrian would inject share capital in his companies to grow further his business and follow me on a shopping spree.
