Litsikakis announced expansion plans in 9 countries
Dimitris Litsikakis, Country Manager of Revolut addressed the Payments conference at SiGMA with an insightful presentation on digital sensation, Revolut.
Today, Litsikakis revealed that Revolut has acquired licences in Singapore, Japan. With the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Brazil and Russia, to be launched in 2019.With 3.2 million users worldwide and 50,000 in Malta, Revolut is transforming the payments sector for the better.
Litsikakis discussed the advantages of Revolut's online security, mentioning some of the key features that have taken so many users away from the traditional banking sector towards the Fintech sensation. One security protocol that Litsikakis dubbed his favourite feature is the location-based security, which blocks payments from a location outside your usual area. Online fraud is increasing by 10% every year.
Revolut is counter-acting against this through a number of different methods. One of these methods is the Disposable Virtual Card. This initiative enables users to load money that you want and use it for a one off payment. After you use it, the card ceases to exists which essentially makes it hack proof. Litsikakis stated that Revolut is aiming to “incentivise our users to use the plastic card more and more so we can go to a cashless society,” by using their perks solution. Every time users conduct a transaction with the card, they are granted a bar and after ten bars, are awarded a perk, for example a 15% discount in a major store.
Litsikakis demonstrated Revolut's cryptocurrency exchange, further indicating its initiative works towards a cashless society. Litsikakis demonstrated how users can use Revolut in the investment marketplace. Get down to the Revolut Rally in the main conference room tomorrow, 30th November, from 18:30 – 20:00 where users can network and give feedback about their Revolut experience.
