GGNetwork will sponsor SiGMA's 5th poker networking tournament

GGNetwork, the world’s largest poker network, is sponsoring SiGMA’s 5th edition of its annual Networking Poker Tournament, and there’s €10,000 worth of prizes waiting to be won.

Jean-Christophe Antoine, Head of GGNetwork.

Taking place at the elegant Portomaso Casino on Thursday, November 28th the highly-anticipated event brings poker lovers together for an evening of networking, drinks and friendly competition. Offering SiGMA delegates a chance to unwind and meet fellow industry players in a relaxed setting, entry to the tournament is reserved for SiGMA pass holders who have selected this option upon registration and is a free roll, with an option to re-buy open for the first hour.

Registration opens at 6 pm, and attendees are advised to be there early to beat the queues. Spaces are limited and on a first-come-first-served basis, so don't be late.

“We wanted to celebrate our new-formed partnership with SiGMA by guaranteeing €10,000 for the Networking Poker Tournament. Anyone can play and win their share (given they register early enough to get a spot there!) or just hang around the Casino to enjoy the event while networking and socializing. We look forward to seeing you there!” said Jean-Christophe Antoine, Head of GGNetwork. Jean-Christophe also features in an exclusive interview in the upcoming edition of SiGMA Magazine, where he shares his thoughts on the future of poker networks.

With a full house at the 2018 event, 2019 is expected to draw an equally prestigious line up of guests. Acclaimed international poker player and MPF events director, Ivonne Montealegre lent prestige to last year’s event, adding to the excitement when she placed a bounty on herself, valued at €550 in exchange for a ticket to the 2019 event – which was won by Janne Hainari.

Mike Rudkin from took home the crown in 2017 – and despite being slightly rusty was still on top form. “Poker is all about the winning, oh and some good banter. At SiGMA, I had a hell of a lot of luck. You have to find out the playing mentality of other players at your table to develop a strategy for stealing and folding, and I think I did it quite well. A lot of skills are involved but sometimes you have to rely on just a little bit of luck,” he said.
