SiGMA sees record attendance numbers as interest from outside Europe surges
With SiGMA on the horizon Malta continues to bask in its position as a leader in innovative industry. Known for its business-friendly practices, the island continues to field substantial interest from outside of Europe as companies keen to explore the many benefits the Maltese landscape has to offer make moves to set-up-shop – earning the country a reputation for quality, flexibility, and stability.
In the words of Oliver Debono, Group COO, “The numbers are growing everywhere – and despite increased regulation in Europe, we are witnessing a surge in European affiliates, operators and suppliers showing interest in Malta. This gives us great confidence for the future.”
While SiGMA has seen steady growth since opening its doors to the iGaming scene back in 2015, 2019 has been a year of plenty, with record attendance figures already dominating the books. Interest in Malta from outside of Europe hovers at an all time high, with attendee requests from Asia spiking 1000%, 500% from North and Latin American markets and a 400% peak in demand from Australian delegates.
Bolstered by a unique mid-Med location, SiGMA has made its mark on the global iGaming map, continuing to build on its commitment to serve as a link for businesses looking to bridge interests across continents. Officially the biggest iGaming show in Malta, our concern now will be to successfully accommodate the needs of a growing, and increasingly sophisticated global portfolio.
Last year the MFCC did an incredible job extending their footprint, and there are similar plans for further growth in the works for 2019. That being said, it has become clear that SiGMA has already outgrown its ambitions – literally. The question now is: where do we go next? As such, SiGMA is working closely with government bodies to continue to foster economic growth, whilst creating a climate that encourages innovation. We hope to remain at the forefront of this feisty industry as Malta takes its place as the ultimate jurisdiction of choice.
This year SiGMA will see 15 thousand delegates flying in from every corner of the globe. With high demand from some of the best in the industry to share our stage and fill our sold-out expo floor, we’re taking things to the next level with conferences spanning regulation and compliance, blockchain and eSports. Our plans this year include the Airbus 135, a state-of-the-art helicopter, which will cater as a shuttle service between the MFCC and St. Julian’s throughout the three days of the expo for the wealth of VIPS visiting Malta during the show.
Our 2020 expansion of the SiGMA brand into the Asian market also remains a great opportunity to bridge the gap between East and West, bringing new business opportunities to European operators looking to expand their interests and to suppliers in the local area keen to strike up a strong relationship with Western companies.
See the year out in style and visit us at the MFCC from the 27th to the 29th of November - this is one event you won’t want to miss.
