Msida once again will host the opening tournament of SIGMA National Championship in 3X3 basketball this Saturday 8th June
Thanks to Msida Local Council, 9 teams will compete for their ticket to the Final tournament in August.
The Sigma Championship will be played throughout the summer months in different locations across the Island, over 5 stops and the Final, visiting Msida, Pretty Bay, Valletta or Sliema. In the Final event, 12 best teams from each stop will be drawn in 4 groups and the Champions will travel to the FIBA Satellite tournament again.
In its opener, SIGMA 3X3 Championship Stop 1, 9 teams are going for the ranking points. The planned start is 16:00 on Saturday, with the final planned for 19:45.

The event is free of charge if you'd like to watch and we encourage you to come early and test your basketball skills on the court placed in the beautiful Msida Parish Church Square location. 3X3 Basketball in Malta started in 2017 with the Championship Tour that took place accross the whole Island - Ta`Qali, Pretty Bay Birzebbuga, Tigne Point with its Final in Valletta where Nik Vasovic, Vule Jandric, William Ahlberg and Nik Andrejevic were crowned as the first Malta 3X3 Basketball Champions and travelled to Torello to compete in the FIBA Satellite tournament.
The Competition runs in 4 categories - OPEN Men, OPEN Women, Under 18 Men and Under 18 Women.
