Smashing success for Malta Sports Day

The very first edition of the Malta Sports Day took place on September 19th, becoming one of the largest igaming leisure fundraisers in Malta. The Sports Day took the whole gaming industry by surprise in a friendly competitive environment.

Her Excellency, the President of Malta, Marie Louise Coleiro Preca had a few words of praise for all participants and encouraged the gaming community to maintain this spirit of solidarity in an environment that is characterised by many different cultures and ethnicities, all working in the same industry.

Despite the emphasis on merely having fun, one couldn’t help noticing some fun but cut-throat competition among rival gaming companies – all for a good cause. In the words of mastermind Dennis Dyhr-Hansen, “I am humbled by the feedback , delighted with the proceeds raised for charity and happy to see the igaming community in Malta closer together. It is safe to say that this sporting event has earned its place in the gaming calendar in Malta.”

Feedback from some of Malta’s largest gaming companies was equally encouraging. When asked to elaborate on his first impressions of this first edition, Aspire Global CEO Tsachi Maimon reiterated, “Aspire Global is excited to be part of a great initiative for the community.  It was really nice seeing everybody in a sporting mode.  Our team had fun hanging and cheering together. It means a lot for us.  See you at the next event!”

Cristoffer Homgren from Bethard went on to elaborate, “The Malta Sports Day was a great event for us! Great for team building and meeting other inspiring people from the industry. We are already looking forward to next year’s event – Work hard, play hard!”

Finally, Risto Myllymäki from iGame Group, winners of the first edition of the MSD, had these words to share “Malta Sports Day was a really fun event and our team enjoyed the atmosphere a lot. iGame is happy to support such charity events which bring people together and encourage a sporty lifestyle. We are looking forward to defend our title next year.”
