Unibet Group acquires iGame Holding

Today, iGame Holding plc – an exhibitor at SiGMA15, was acquired by Unibet Group plc. The agreement concerns 100% of iGame’s shares, including its subsidiaries. The iGame Group is a gambling operator that focuses on the Nordic and Central European markets, having seven local brands in its portfolio. The company offers casino, sports betting and poker.

The transaction is expected to come into effect in a few weeks.

It is worth mentioning, that in the six month period to the end of June 2015, the GWR of iGame accounted for EUR 13.7 million and the EBITDA was EUR 4.7 million. For the second quarter of 2015, the number of active customers amounted to 75,000.

Through the acquisition, Unibet will significantly gain market shares in Nordic markets before re-regulation which is expected to appear in the next years.

The team of iGame led by CEO Tommi Maijala, will remain with the venture. In total, iGame has approximately 130 employees, the majority of whom are based in Malta.

The acquisition is expecting to allow the new group to derive synergy benefits from wider product portfolio, effective marketing and economies of scale associated with third-party procurement of products and media.
