Delegates pack the expo floor for the first day of the conference
SiGMA 2018 has kicked off in style following the glamorous Malta Gaming Awards last night.
As thousands of delegates pour through the gates at Malta’s MFCC Conference Centre, it’s 9am and the show is already buzzing with activity.
Exhibitors have set up some spectacular stands this year, and we’re expecting over 12,500 visitors to the show - the largest attendance ever for SiGMA.
As the conference room fills up with delegates eager to hear the opening address from Malta's Prime Minister, the Hon. Joseph Muscat at 10am, speakers are preparing to deliver a plethora of fascinating and informative panels and keynotes, including the Regulatory Conference, with the MGA looking at the Gaming Act and iGaming Law, alongside AI tech under the microscope from 10.05am, and Pan African Regulation just after 1pm.
In the afternoon the Blockchain Conference welcomes legends from the Blockchain and ICO sector to discuss how decentralised ledger technology can be beneficial to the iGaming industry and what jurisdictions are putting in place to support integration of the new technology to keep transparency at the heart of the online gambling experience.
In other parts of the SiGMA extravaganza, the Hackathon has started already, with participants beginning their coding efforts in earnest.
And there’s plenty of celebrity spotting to be had with some famous industry names mingling with stars from sports and entertainment, including former F1 World Champion and Kindred ambassador, Mika Häkkinen in attendance at the Kindred stand at 2.30pm and later at 3pm for a meet and greet with fans.
All the team at SiGMA would like to wish all delegates and exhibitors the very best SiGMA 2018 show, and we look forward to seeing you all out there...
